Leyland Chess Club

Welcome to Leyland Chess Club's web site
Leyland has a small friendly chess club that meets on a weekly basis. The weekly meeting is an ideal place for the residents of Leyland and the surrounding area to come along and play a friendly game of chess. There are about a dozen members of the club with a good range of juniors who are learning the game through to adults who play regular league and congress chess.

Club Venue Details
We currently meet on Tuesday evenings in a room upstairs at the Broadfield Arms on Leyland Lane from 7:30pm, with an early start for the juniors at 6:30pm. Map Link

Junior Chess
Juniors are well supported by Leyland Chess Club members. At the chess club we encourage them in playing chess and give them appropriate coaching to improve their games. We support junior chess in the local community with such activites as running after school chess clubs at Woodlea Junior School Leyland and Whitle-le-Woods CofE Primay School.
Leyland Chess Club, with the assistance of the Harry Marsden Memorial Fund, support various junior activities, including ocassional junior coaching sessions in Leyland at Prospect House. We also fund the entry fee for local schools who wish to enter the UK Dellancy Chess Challenge
