More chess information

There is a small thriving chess scene in the town of Leyland in Lancashire, England.  The chess club meets weekly with three teams in the local league, there is an annual 3 day chess congress which is FIDE rated and a one day rapid play held in historic Worden Hall. The chess club, through the memorial fund, also supports various chess activities in local schools, such as running school chess clubs, providing chess books and equipment etc. The fund also offers financial assistance to local schools who enter the UK Chess Challenge. We are LCA affiliated and our members are members of the English Chess Federation.
