Welcome
The annual Leyland Chess Club Rapidplay is organised by members of Leyland Chess Club and is held on a Sunday in late February. The congress is a one day, six round event. It is an ECF Game Fee event. The event is supported by the Harry Marsden Memorial Fund.

    Rate of Play
In each round, each player will have 25 minutes for the entire game.

Round 4: 13:50 Round 5: 15:00 Round 6: 16:10

Lunch: 13:10 to 13:50

 

 
    Venue
Wellfield Business and Enterprise College, Yewland Drive, Leyland PR25 2TP

The school is only 5 minutes from the M6, Exit 28. There is free parking.

Exit the Motorway at junction 28 and turn left (from north or south) towards Leyland. Go straight across at the double roundabout onto King Street. You pass the Commercial Vehicle museum on your left. You come to a set of traffic lights where you turn right. Take the first exit at the mini roundabout on to School Lane. Take the first left into Yewlands Drive. The school is at the end of the drive.

Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be available during the day.

Players under 16 on 31st August 2011 will be classified as juniors.
Players over 65 will be classed as veterans.
* ECF direct members and members of the ECF local Membership Schemes,
e.g. NCCU membership organisation, please bring your membership card to the congress.
 

 
   

Grading
The current ECF Rapidplay Grading List will be used to determine a player's grade. For players who do not appear in the Rapidplay List, other lists may be used at the discretion of the organised. ungraded players must provide evidence for the organisers to assess their playing strength and any previous know grade must be declared.
 

 
    Prizes
The organisers reserve the right to redistribute in whole or in part any prizes won by a competitor who has won or shared a prize.
 
 
    Pairings
Ten minutes after the start of each round, new pairings may be made for each player whose opponent has not arrived and for any player otherwise having a full-point bye. Absent players will be defaulted after 10 minutes.
